Job Title: Support Services Advocate

Job Summary:
A Support Services Advocate at Renewed Horizon will provide families with the resources and assistance necessary to navigate and access community support services. The primary focus will be on assisting families in crisis situations and connecting them with the appropriate resources. Will be responsible for providing advocacy and support to individuals facing challenges such as domestic violence, homelessness, removal of child(ren), and mental health issues.
Responsibilities:

Assessing the needs of families and creating individualized support plans

Providing emotional support and guidance to families facing challenges
-
Collaborating with community service providers to coordinate resources for families
-
Advocating for families and empowering them to access available services
-
Supervise visitations between child(ren) and parent(s)
-
Work one-on-one with parent(s) to meet service plan goals
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
-
High school diploma + experience OR Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field
-
3+ years previous experience in a social services or human services setting preferred
-
Experience working with families in crisis or vulnerable situations
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
-
Empathy for individuals in crisis

Training in trauma-informed care
Requirements:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
-
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
-
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Preferred Skills:

Experience working with families in crisis

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of community resources and social services

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
