Heather grew up in Estes Park Colorado later remaining in York Nebraska after graduating from York College. Heather has a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music Education K-12 and a Master of Arts in Education. After teaching, she found her heart was in a different place and pursued working with children and families in foster care. She has a passion for serving children and families as seen through her work in foster care as a foster care coordinator, foster care recruiter, foster parent trainer, working with various organization within her community, and previously providing foster care as a licensed home. She is excited to serve the communities by providing solid services to families and partners. Her biggest joy in her work is providing support to staff and families to be as successful as possible. Recently, Heather was awarded the Impact Award from the York County Development Corporation for her work and dedication in the community. Her and her husband Jason have two sons and two dogs. She enjoys her family time, camping, and music.

Jason is the husband of Heather Hultgrien since 2009. He has been a part of the York community for several decades. Heather and Jason served as foster parents for several youth in the past. With a drive to better lives of youth Heather gave Jason a chance to be a part of this wonderful journey.

Amanda grew up throughout the United States and Germany; she graduated high school in Grand Island. Amanda has a Bachelor of Science; her educational background is in Criminal Justice and Human Services. Amanda has worked in public safety and with youth and adult offenders. Amanda began working specifically with foster children and families in 2005; her favorite aspect of working with foster children and families is having the opportunity to help them reach their full potential. Amanda enjoys her life with her husband and dog in their little yellow house. Amanda and her husband have two grown children and a grandbaby. Amanda loves spending time with her family, gardening, music, guitar, and baseball.

Sarah has lived all over and loves something from each place. She is blessed to have two girls, 9 and 10. Sarah comes to us with a Bachelor of Art degree in for K-8th grade Education but after graduating realized a different path for her future. She says, "I love what I do now and enjoy my job." Sarah comes with a wealth of experience working with children and youth of all ages and supports our families with a passion that is undeniable.

Billie grew up in Nebraska, and graduated from Meridian High School in Daykin. Billie started her post secondary education with Southeast Community College, and University of Nebraska Kearney. While there Billie studied Social Work, Sociology, and Psychology. This drew Billie to working in a field closely related in Human Services. Billie has a lengthy background in Criminal Justice. Billie has also worked closely with individuals who are physically and mentally disabled. Billie comes to Renewed Horizon with the ambition to impact our community and make a difference in the lives of parents and children. Fishing, gardening, woodworking, chicken farming, and most of all raising her son are Billie’s hobbies and joys in life.
Family Support Partner
De grew up in a very rural area of central Idaho. She originally began a career in the medical field but always had a heart for children and families. As a military wife, De certified as a Family Childcare Provider for 8 years. Upon returning from Germany, she worked as a Targeted Service Coordinator and that job fueled her career change. In 2000, with their five kids in tow, De and her husband moved to Texas to work in a group home facility. They cared for 220+ children over 11 years. While still in Texas, De began working toward her degree in Applied Behavior Science. De and her husband Ken have been married 38 years. They have seven adult children (five biological and two adopted) and 8 grandchildren. De loves spending time with her family, gardening, crafting, junking and watching sports.

Mataia grew up in York Nebraska where she then graduated from York College. Mataia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After graduation college she joined the Renewed Horizon team to help make a difference in people’s lives and she has an interest in serving the youth and families. Mataia and her husband have a dog and two cats. Mataia loves spending time with her husband, going to dirt track races and sporting events.

Ryan is driven by the flourishing of children and families. Having attended North Park University for his undergraduate and graduate studies, he has a background in psychology and theology. Ryan has served as a minister in several congregations and worked with many organizations in community development and formation. He has lived in all regions of the US, is a new resident to central Nebraska and finds that wherever his spouse and kids are is ‘home’. After watching too many shows on HGTV, they are currently renovating a 100-year-old home...and it is taking much longer than the typical 60 minutes (including commercials).
